ROMANA În timpul celui de al doilea razboi mondial petrolul a jucat un rol fundamental. Toate taberele implicate în conflict au cautat cu toate mijloacele sa-si asigure accesul la aceasta sursa esentiala pentru desfasurarea razboiului modern. În acest context Romania si în special zona Ploiesti-Prahova au avut  un rol important în conflict, rol recunoscut în egala masura de toate partile implicate în conflict. Desi operatiunile militare aeriene din zona  Romaniei nu sunt la fel de cunoscute ca cele desfasurate în zona Germaniei, ele nu au fost mai putin importante, pe teritoriul Romaniei s-au purtat lupte aeriene dure, ambele parti beligerante dand dovada de eroism si determinare în realizarea misiunilor încredintate. Pentru prezentare istoriei acestor confruntari, a pilotilor implicati si a faptelor lor am constituit o asociatie. Membrii Asociatiei noastre îsi doresc sa construiasca  un memorial dedicat aviatorilor care au luptat pe teritoriul Romaniei în timpul celui de al doilea razboi mondial, precum si sa promoveze  istoria aviatiei romanesti în tara si stainatate, sa studieze istoria orasului Ploiesti si a zonei Prahova, sa prezinte istoria luptelor aeriene de pe teritoriul Romaniei.

ENGLISH During World War II oil played a fundamental role. All the factions engaged in the conflict sought by all means to secure their access to this essential source in the modern war progress. In this context, Romania and especially the area Ploiesti – Prahova had an important role in the conflict, which was recognized equally by all parties. Although aerial military operations in the Romanian zone are not as well-known as those deployed in the German zone, they were not less important, as on the Romanian territory taugh aerial battles were fought, both warring parties proving courage and determination in accomplishing the duties assigned. In order to expound the history of these battles, of the pilots involved and of their acts, we have established an Association. The members of our Association wish to develop a memorial dedicated to aviators who fought on the Romanian territory during the Second World War and to promote the history of the aviation internally and abroad, to study the history of Ploiesti town and Prahova zone, to expound the history of aerial battles on the Romanian territory.
